My name is David Henry, I live in Kissimmee, FL and I became a Professional Golfer in May, 2010 after graduating from the Professional Golfer's Career College in Winter Garden, FL. I am dedicating my professional career in raising awareness and money for cancer as this disease has affected my entire family. First my mom was diagnosed with stage IV malignant melanoma in 2008 and after undergoing many treatments is thankfull here today. The next person that heard those words was myself after having several malignant moles removed but thankfully mine were caught in the earliest of stages and I am doing great. Finally my dad was diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive cancer in October, 2012 and gained his wings just 5 months into his battle on April 2, 2013. This has been a very devastating ordeal for my family but we know through our grief my dad would have wanted me to continue my dream and to continue raising awareness for cancer research. I have dedicated my career to the honor of the following people who have touched our lives. Those people are my mom, Chris, my dad, Bill along with Jennifer Thomas, Brian Perry,Tina Miller, Casey James, Samantha Channels, Shirley Peay, Michael Schwink, Jason Kane, Raymond Newman, Keri McCarthy, Duane Miller, Eric Wilcox, Brianna Collins,Barbara Riggins, Vicki Curran, Lori Fredericks, Kerry Spindler, Grace Jarrell and Mandi Parker, all who are courageous warriors, angels and survivors. All of these people are the true definition of courage and strength. Melanoma is more than just skin cancer and is becoming one of the fastest growing cancers . Over 76,000 people will be diagnosed with melanoma this year alone and I am hoping and praying that a cure can be found soon. 1 person loses their battle with melanoma every hour.
